Wyland Clean Water ChallengeFor the 21st Century…And Beyond
Welcome to the Wyland Clean Water Challenge, an exciting new art and science program developed by the Wyland Foundation, Scripps Institution of Oceanography (UCSD) and the Birch Aquarium at Scripps.
Fifteen years of experience traveling America, inspiring children and the public to protect and preserve our precious water resources has led to the development of The Wyland Clean Water Challenge. The CWC is a multifaceted and innovative clean water education experience. Use several components or all of them to immerse your school or local community in a fun and exciting way.The Clean Water Challenge is designed to instruct and inspire young people everywhere about marine science and the conservation of water quality on our planet. Through a unique range of continually updated activities, students are offered a global view of our planet’s oceans, lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, and wetlands, and our relationship to one of our greatest natural resources. As the program grows, we hope to reach 57 millions students throughout the United States and, ultimately, every student around the world. To accomplish this, we are asking principals, teachers, parents, businesses, and concerned citizens to join us in implementing this program in classrooms by volunteering as a program spearhead or contributing financial assistance. With your help, we can educate and inspire students from all walks of life to protect and preserve the water systems of our planet- and improve the quality of life for everyone in the future.
